Chelmsford U15s dominate in their Essex Cup fixture at Westcliff RFC and come close at Wanstead RFC only to be pipped in the final few minutes.

Chelmsford continued their defence of the Essex Cup with a comprehensive 26 point win at Westcliff RFC. Despite a spirited defence from our hosts the Chelmsford boys crossed the line 4 times without reply to take the win. It was however a sub par performance from the team who know they will have to raise their game before playing the Kent based Old Elthamians next week at Coronation Park.
U15 Friendly - Wanstead 26 Chelmsford 22
A second u15s team made the journey inside the M25 to play Wanstead in a development friendly. The Chelmsford boys continued to show massive improvements in defensive line speed and tackling but against Wansteads' only team, they lacked the physicality to take and hold the lead. Despite the size disparity, the Chelmsford boys played some entertaining rugby and I have no doubt that some will be pushing for places in the out of county team in the near future.
Next week sees the u15s take on two sides from Old Elthamians at Coronation Park.
