You really can’t beat a Rugby Festival, but it was touch and go if the Southend Festival would happen this weekend considering the dreadful weather, we had been experiencing ALL week. But credit to Southend RFC we got the green light from them mid-Saturday, and we all headed over early Sunday for a 09:30am kick-off.
Chelmsford Mini’s turned up in force and was well represented in all age groups (u7’s, u8’s, u9’s and u10’s) and faced off for a fun morning of rugby against a good number of Essex clubs (Witham, Upminster, Westcliff, Braintree, Brentwood to name a few).
It was a very solid effort all round with the u7’s and u8’s winning most of their games of tag and the u9’s and 10’s dominating games with lots of outstanding performances and solid rugby. There was way too many games and performances to mention.
All players and parents enjoy the festivals as it’s a great day out with so much going on for everyone, even the sun showed up and the day turned out to be nice.
