The Medical and backroom team provide vital continuity for the coming season

With the start of preseason for Senior Men just over 2 weeks away, the club is delighted to confirm the continuity of the medical & backroom support teams.

Adrian Cuthill will continue in his capacity as BLUEBOYS B XV (formerly 2nd XV) team Manger. Director of Rugby, Kev Blackmore said this of Adrian’s reappointment “Adi impressed me right from word go when I joined last summer, he is so passionate about the Rugby club and has proven that by managing the B XV through a consolidation period excellently” Kev added “Managing the B XV is probably the most challenging role in the backroom team, you have to manage the integration of young players, players with their noses out of joint as they want to be playing for the BLUEBOYS XV whilst keeping it fun, its no easy task!”

Lawrence Crispin also retains his position as BLUEBOYS XV manager and Kev Blackmore was just as praiseworthy with his Lawrence’s efforts last season “Lawrence is a clubman through and through and whilst his work may go under the radar a little, his input was vital last season. On one occasion Lawrence had to do a mad hour round dash to go back to Chelmsford to collect our kit as the launderette had put the jerseys in the wrong wrong bag! This was all out of the eyes of the players, who arrived at the host club none the wiser. This is unglamorous work but stands as a great example of what real teamwork is about!”

James Davis will continue in his role as Head of Medical & Physiotherapy and will again be supported by Harry Matthews as BLUEBOYS XV Physiotherapist for the coming campaign. Kev Blackmore said of the pair “This is an area of the club that has been a real success story. The treatment the players receive is truly first class and where players have fully engaged with their rehabilitation programs, they have recovered from injuries in a time efficient and confident way” Kev added “Having a team like this supporting the players is key to any club worth its salt. It is a great feather in our cap. Our Players Welfare and long-term health is an absolute priority and you can’t do it without the right people in place and fortunately for the club and the players we certainly have that!”

Senior men’s preseason starts on 27th June at 7.30pm at Coronation Park.
