Guinness World Record attempt to play the longest game of rugby.

To my club,

As you are aware, I am not known for my endurance athleticism, being rather rotund and built for eating & drinking not endurance events. However, I have decided to raise some monies for a worthwhile charity. On the 25th and 26th August, I will be playing for the Wooden Spoon charity in the longest game of rugby, targeting 30 hours of continuous game time (a Guinness World Record attempt).
The Wooden Spoon is a charity I actively support with monies raised going to support and change the lives of children less fortunate than ourselves. For example, the Spoon recently opened a sensory room at the Barking & Dagenham Youth Zone.
The Challenge
I have put my name forward and been selected along with 22 other rugby players to complete in the Guinness World Record attempt to play the longest game of rugby. This will be a full contact game played under full RFU rules with a squad of 23 players. Our opposition is a team raised by the School of Hard Knocks. The plan is to beat the previous record of 30 hours with a target of 33 hours of continuous game time.
Bearing in mind, a normal game of rugby is 80 minutes and I am normally subbed off after 60 mins as by then am shattered or broken!
The Ask
I am raising money for the Wooden Spoon with an a squad aim to raise GBP 100,000. Any support you can provide would be welcomed. My virgin giving page is: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/StaffordButt .

Thank you in advance for your support.

Plus if you want to support in person on the 25th and 26th August at Hazelwood, Home of London Irish.

The Wooden Spoon Charity
Wooden Spoon is a charity that grew from the sport of rugby. The charity aims to support and help change the lives of children less fortunate than ourselves. Each year we fund around 70 projects, from community programmes and specialist playgrounds to medical treatment centres and sensory rooms. Since 1983, The Wooden Spoon has distributed over GBP 26 million to more than 700 projects, helping more than a million children.
Since 1997, HRH The Princess Royal has been the charity’s Patron and several international rugby professionals are ambassadors for the charity.

History of the Spoon
The woeful performance of England during the 1983 Five Nations Rugby Championship left an unexpected but wonderful legacy.
After watching their side condemned to the bottom of the tournament table with a 25-15 defeat to Ireland at Landsdowne Road, five England supporters seeking solace in a Dublin bar were presented with a wooden spoon, wrapped in an Irish scarf, on a silver platter.
Accepting the gift with good humour and grace, the group – which included Wooden Spoon’s now-president Peter Scott – resolved to hold a golf match to see who would have the honour of keeping the tongue-in-cheek gift.
Just a few months later, the round at Farnham Golf Club in Surrey raised more than GBP 8,500, with the money used to provide a new minibus for a local special needs school.
Stirred into action by a rugby routing, Wooden Spoon was born and we have been supporting disadvantaged and disabled children ever since.
