The club held its annual end of season ‘Charity Day’ at Coronation Park on a beautifully sunny Saturday afternoon. The day kicked off celebrating the Minis season. Fun and games for all the age groups involving all from U6s to U12s who enjoyed an end of season training session, awards (this year handed out by 1st XV Mens Captain Will Cooper) followed by a bounce on the inflatables.
At 1.00 pm a game took place between the Chelmsford Undertakers and the Chelmsford Coaches. A great runout for all in front of a big crowd.
At 3.00 pm a match Essex Archbishops and Suffolk SuperVets. On a hard and dusty pitch rugby, Suffolk took the spoils but rugby was the real winner!
Tombola, cake stall and ‘Rugby Against Cancer’ socks all contributed to a fantastic £5,000 being raised for two charities close to the club’s blue heart ? Wooden Spoon Essex and the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity.
