With no fixtures to play this weekend, the U15s took advantage of the break on the field, to do some valuable community work off it
The Chelmsford RFC u15s (supported by a amazing group of coaches and parents) generously donated their time and muscle power to help the Wilderness Foundation, a fantastic charity based just outside Chelmsford, fill the foundation of their RHS Chelsea Flower Show award winning WFUK "Wild Garden" with around 15 tonnes of drainage rubble.
Once completed with topsoil and medicinal trees, shrubs, and flowers, this new area will be transformed into a beautiful Wilderness Therapy Garden which will be used to help even more young people in the local area by connecting them with nature.
The U15s enthusiasm saw the job completed well ahead of schedule, and the group used the extra time to help create woodchip paths across the site that enhance access to their woodlands and to establish new Woodland Therapy Areas.
Tom Clover, Operations Manager for the Wilderness Foundation commented “It was so great to have the team on site, who’s infectious enthusiasm and positivity resulted in fun and laughter being heard in every corner of our 40-acre site. They’re obviously a great team and their support for each other and our cause is what it’s all about”.
“This incredible support strengthens our mission to connect people to nature and improve lives. We couldn't have achieved it without our amazing community. Together, we are creating positive change!”

The club would also like to thank Olivers Nurseries in Witham for kindly lending us a number of wheelbarrows for the day!
