On 16th February 2024, four of our Chelmsford U16's were selected to take part in a warm up fixture under floodlights against "top of the league" side Westcliff.
The match was arranged ahead of the Essex Saracens PDG festival, taking place at StoneX stadium next weekend, where Essex will play against teams from Kent and Hertfordshire. It was the first time that this group of U16's, selected from across the whole of Essex, have played a match together as a team, since their selection back in January.
The game was played in three x 20 minute sections. It was a convincing win for the Essex PDG, but it was no surprise that Westcliff made for great opponants given their current unbeaten status in the Essex U16 league table
Lets hope our boys did enough to impress the PDG coaches, but regardless of what decisions are made for next week - our boys did CRFC proud.
