On a perfect day for running rugby the 2nd XV, with 13 Chelmsford youth players in it, put in a worthy performance that produced a pulsating and hugely entertaining game.
With a large home supporting crowd making all the noise, the Blueboys put in a workmanlike performance to win a game worthy of the Cup Final itself. Tries from Tristan Olive, Ugo Eze and Ross Toomey and the perfect boot of Dave Cramphorn with 3 conversions and 1 penalty sealed the deal.
The game took its toll on the players and we hope the squad can recover in time for next week's game. Today we witnessed high tempo bruising competitive rugby from both teams.
Thank you to the Chelmsford travelling support, we grow in numbers week on week and it makes the difference. Thanks to Desiree and Barks for their side-line support with Desiree having a very busy day - we hope everyone makes a speedy recovery.
The team now book their place in the Cup Final and wait to see who they will face next week over at Barking Rugby Club - details to follow but please put this in your diary and if you can come and cheer the lads on that would be fantastic.
