Chelmsford secured a must win victory against Harrow with both teams to kick start there season. . Both teams attacked from the start with defences being tested to the maximum. Ten minutes into the game birthday boy Adam Cunnah pounced on a loose ball to sprinted half the length of the field to give Chelmsford a deserved 5 -0 lead. The game then went quite with only a penalty front Simon Hoult extending the Chelmsford lead to 8-0.
On the 30 minute mark the game came to life with the sin binning of openside flanker Josh Cavey who was harshly punished for what seemed some outstanding work.
Harrow took their chance and scored a well worked try under the post to go into the half time break 8-7 down. This was the closest Harrow got after the break Chelmsford stepped up the tempo and try's from Steve Prest Adam Cunnah and Jack Acorn plus two Simon Hoult conversions took Chelmsford into a 27-7 lead .
Coach Eddie Gooby had been making changes since half time with the introduction of Sean Gannon, Chris Hoult and Phil Dechamps into the pack.
Harrow played there part in this very entertaining game and scored a well worked try to reduce the lead to 27-12. Within minutes Chelmsford were on the score sheet again with Jamie Morrish collecting a chip over the defence by Simon Hoult to score under the post with Hoult slotting over the conversion to extend the lead to 34-14
Harrow had the final say on the score sheet with a fantastic forward pass out of the contact which both teams acknowledged only to looked stunned when the try was awarded leaving the final score 34-17
Coach Eddie Gooby was delighted with the response by the squad from the previous week . He added we played with pace and passion today and stepped up in our defensive work We need to take all these aspects into the coming weeks
