On a crisp and sunny day at Fortress Corrie our Div 1 side the Chiefs fell to a late onslaught by an engerised Wanstead side who wanted to win the game more than the Chiefs.

This was a physical encounter that the Chiefs just couldn't make their mark in or showcase the systems we have put in places as coaches.
Too many errors and decision making the game difficult for the Chlemsford lads to make any possession count.
The lads played frantically and again like individuals throughout the game and to turn round playing down the slope in the first half with three tries should of seen them.dominate the second half however it wasn't meant to be.
Wanstead to their credit had to weather the storm and did so only for Chelmsford to make many errors that turned over ball and just gave it back to Wanstead.

The lads really need to learn those lessons and in front of the home supporters didn't play to.their capable full potential.
At the turnaround and now playing up the slope the Chiefs side started to really play some good rugby but white line fever took over.
Overlaps and mismatches were everywhere in favour of the home side but were not identified.
As the clock ticked down and the game still in Chelmsford favour Wanstead launched their final assault and it was inevitable they would breach to Chiefs defence.

Non dominant tackles and slow defence allowed Wanstead to score and with the kick to come and the final whistle close they slotted the conversion giving Wanstead a deserved win and credit to them and their coaches for their hard work they all put in.
The Chiefs now have time to reflect and think of the team and prepare for next week's fixture away to Southend Colts which will be another test.
Today's loss could well be the turning point for our lads - let's hope so!
